Shark Shield launches new second generation product range ... view

Shark nets are deployed around the world to help prevent shark attacks. It has been proven to reduce attacks, but they are also known to lead to the catching and killing of both sharks and other marine animals (including whales, dolphins, turtles and other fish species) that pose no threat to humans.

It is anticipated that Shark Shield will reduce the slaughter of sharks directly by ultimately replacing shark nets, and indirectly, by protecting people engaged in all forms of marine activity. This is expected to reduce the clamour to kill sharks. Shark Shield has no long term effect on sharks or indeed any other creature.
